【摘要】:Theintentofthistestmethodistoprovideameansofmeasuringtheultimateshearstrengthofthinaluminumalloywroughtandcastproducts.Dataobtainedbythistestmethodareusedtocalculateminimumpropertiesthatcanbeutilizedinthedesignofstructuralmemberssuchasfoundinaircraft.Itisrecognizedthattheloadingconditionsdevelopedbythistestmethod,andbymostothers,arenotidealinthattheydonotstrictlysatisfythedefinitionsofpureshear.However,rarelydopureshearconditionsexistinstructures.Note18212;ThistestmethodisnotinterchangeablewiththatdescribedinMethodsB565andB769.Shearstrengthsobtainedbythistestmethodhavebeenshowntovaryfromthosedevelopedbytheothermethods.31.1Thistestmethodcoverssinglesheartestingofthinwroughtandcastaluminumalloyproductstodetermineshearultimatestrengths.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.TheSIvaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
